Deep learning has facilitated a notable advancement in the accuracy of EEG-based sleep stage classification (SSC) in recent years. However, the accomplishment of these models is attributable to the use of a significant amount of labeled data for training, which correspondingly restricts their effectiveness in real-world scenarios. Data from sleep studies in these cases can accumulate rapidly, but the process of meticulously labeling and categorizing this information is an expensive and lengthy one. A notable recent development is the self-supervised learning (SSL) paradigm, which has demonstrated its efficacy in overcoming the scarcity of labeled data. We assess the usefulness of SSL in improving the capabilities of SSC models for few-label datasets in this study. Our analysis of three SSC datasets indicated that pre-trained SSC models, fine-tuned with only 5% of the labeled data, yielded performance comparable to fully labeled supervised training. In RoReg, a novel point cloud registration framework, the entire registration pipeline fully exploits oriented descriptors and estimated local rotations. While previous approaches successfully extracted rotation-invariant descriptors for the purpose of registration, they consistently neglected the directional characteristics of the extracted descriptors. In our analysis of the registration pipeline, the oriented descriptors and estimated local rotations are shown to be crucial, especially in the phases of feature description, detection, matching, and the final stage of transformation estimation. atypical infection Subsequently, a novel descriptor, dubbed RoReg-Desc, is developed and put to use in estimating local rotations. Estimated local rotations are used to build a rotation-based detector, a coherence matcher for rotations, and a one-step RANSAC estimation method, collectively producing a substantial improvement in registration performance. By employing high-dimensional lighting representations and differentiable rendering, many recent advances in inverse rendering have been achieved. Despite the use of high-dimensional lighting representations in scene editing, achieving accurate management of multi-bounce lighting effects proves difficult, along with the challenges of model inconsistencies and ambiguities in light source models within differentiable rendering methods. Employing Monte Carlo path tracing, we present a novel multi-bounce inverse rendering method designed to correctly render complex multi-bounce lighting in scene editing applications. This work proposes a novel light source model, particularly well-suited for indoor light editing, and a dedicated neural network architecture with corresponding disambiguation constraints to resolve ambiguities during inverse rendering. Irregularity and unstructuredness within point clouds present obstacles to effective data exploitation and the extraction of discriminatory features. Within this paper, we introduce the unsupervised deep neural network Flattening-Net, which translates irregular 3D point clouds with varied shapes and topologies into a completely regular 2D point geometry image (PGI). The colors of image pixels correspond to the positions of the spatial points. The core operation of Flattening-Net implicitly models a locally smooth 3D-to-2D surface flattening, while ensuring the consistency of neighborhoods. The intrinsic property of the underlying manifold's structure is inherently encoded within PGI, a generic representation method, thus facilitating the aggregation of point features in a surface-style manner. To highlight its promise, we develop a unified learning framework, intervening directly on PGIs, enabling diverse high-level and low-level downstream applications, each driven by dedicated task-specific networks. These tasks include classification, segmentation, reconstruction, and upsampling. The investigation into multi-view clustering that deals with missing data in particular views (IMVC), has become increasingly popular. Existing IMVC methods, while showing promise, remain constrained by two issues: (1) an excessive focus on imputing missing values, often overlooking the potential errors introduced by unknown labels; and (2) a reliance on complete data for feature learning, ignoring the inherent variations in feature distribution between complete and incomplete data. These issues are addressed via a deep imputation-free IMVC method, augmenting feature learning with distribution alignment. Concretely, the method being proposed uses autoencoders to learn features for each view, and it uses an adaptive projection of features to prevent imputation of missing data. Data from all available sources are projected onto a unified feature space, where mutual information maximization reveals shared cluster structures and mean discrepancy minimization establishes distribution alignment. In this paper, we introduce a unified framework for the end-to-end sequential processing of the entire video, incorporating long-range and dense visual-linguistic interactions to resolve this issue. A novel lightweight relevance filtering transformer, dubbed Ref-Transformer, is created. Its components include relevance filtering attention and a temporally expanded MLP. Using relevance filtering, text-relevant spatial regions and temporal segments within video are highlighted and propagated through the entire video sequence by employing the temporally expanded multi-layer perceptron. Rigorous explorations into three sub-tasks of referring video action localization – referring video segmentation, temporal sentence grounding, and spatiotemporal video grounding – prove that the proposed framework achieves superior performance across all referring video action localization tasks.
